First attempt at Intarsia. Just started scrolling a couple of weeks ago. Used cedar with a little stain on two pieces. I picked up a Porter Cable saw for cheap. Has a lotta wobble in blade till I start cutting. Really enjoyed this project. I Truely welcome any constructive criticism or advice.

Roland, that is a very nice piece.  Only criticism I can think of is this is your first post. Would be nice if the first post was to introduce yourself to us and give us a chance to give you a proper welcome.  Oh, well, all is forgiven.  Welcome to the forum.  So glad you have joined us.  Like I said, very nice piece.  Fact, it is one I would expect to see done by a seasoned intarsia artist.  I very much look forward to seeing more of your work.

OH WOW.  That is Fabulous and you have only been scrolling 2 weeks.................I have been scrolling about 18years and have only done one intarsia and then it was not the best.  You are a  natural.  I love pelicans, see lots of them when I go for a walk near the Marina.

Oh by the way welcome to the Village.

The fit looks great and the colors are right on.  It would help to see the depth by showing a side view.  On my first piece. a Goldfinch, the experts said I needed to do more shaping.

Thanks for taking a look.

Beautiful project - especially if you just picked up on the scrollsaw and tried intarsia a couple of weeks ago.  I look forward to seeing more as you progress.  If you ever want to travel up to East TN - Knoxville/Smokies - Judy Gale Roberts has some awesome classes for Intarsia.  I took her beginners and intermediate classes last year.  She is slowing down on her classes though so if you get a chance, its well worth the trip and time if you can make it work.  Thanks for showing.
