I had seen another offering by Harvey on Wooden Teddy Bear but never remembered to ask him about them, but finally did...

We're all familiar with his dog puzzles that spell out the breed with each letter being a puzzle piece.  Well, he also offers them as non-puzzles in that the letters are still there, but they aren't each cut out.  And as part of a "set", he includes a miniature version in that format as well as just an outline of the dog with no lettering that can be cut as ornaments.

Attached is a sample along with his suggestion on how to cut the small ornaments.  They sell for $4.50 plus shipping at WTB but I spoke with him about it and suggested me selling them for $3.50 with free email delivery.

Let me know if you're interested in these.  I've set up a new category on my website for ordering.  www.WoodcraftByScott.com

I like that.I am going to have to try that in thin wood.Do you think it will look and do good?:?

The small sized ones, thin wood for sure.  I've never tried a larger sized one in thin wood, not sure what you would do with it, but if you can come up with a use for it on a wall hanging or something, sure.

Thanks Rob and I just sent you an email as well.  I don't have any of these on hand yet since I'm just now offering them.  I've left Harvey a voicemail asking him to send me the ones you ordered.  He'll drop them in the mail to me and I'll get them to you via email.

I have made a few projects that while nice have no use just hanging on a wall, most times I add a piece on the bottom ( shaped and fancy of course) then add key hooks, at least now it's usefull

@lawson56 - oh no - what did you do to your leg?  Hope you are not out too long and make a good and speedy recovery!

Couldn't you just shrink te puzzles and make it that way, or would that be against his copyrights . I have never seen his restrictions on his patterns.?

You certainly could if you want to and simply not cut out the puzzle pieces.  I know some folks that have done that.

Keep an eye on it and go see a Doctor if it doesn't start getting better soon.  Glad it didn't hit you in the head!  My FIL did that once - luckily it was a smaller branch.  Prayers for your healing.

That was really my thinking on it.. If I spend the money on a pattern I'd just a soon buy the puzzle.. then modify it for clocks or whatever I need...

That all said though.. I never thought about patterns having restrictions.. I modify a good amount of the patterns I get to make something different.. Though I've never really seen any restrictions on the patterns themselves.. I really like to buy patterns in sets rather than individually too..

That's a good idea just shrinking them down and use thinner wood for ornaments. I would think it would be easy enough to just cut out your puzzle pattern that you already have and don't cut out the letters.
