danny Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 Well my one and only Craft Show is this coming weekend. Have all ready to box up and be ready. Haven't labeled each as of now. Most All of what I Scroll I feel would fall into the Between $10 to $30 charge. This year I have had thoughts to Not put lil price stickers on each craft. Put all I feel is $20 in ONE area. Same with other prices. So whats your thots? Label each piece ....................Or not ?? Thanks for replying.... Danny :+} Quote
tonylumps Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 (edited) All the shows I did so far wanted prices.Ihave so many different prices I could not group them .I do shrink wrap most everything I make.So I went and bought a price tag gun like the ones they used to use in grocery stores before bar codes . They are very reasonably priced and the tags come off pretty easy too.I got mine on Amazon. Edited November 7, 2017 by tonylumps Quote
dansnow Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 When we were doing craft shows we bought a box of 1" by 3/4" tags with a loop of string attached. The vast majority of things we make I could loop the string around a part of it other a piece of clear tape would suffice. Quote
WayneMahler Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 I use the stringed tabs. 1 3/4 x 1 3/32 from Avery. Plenty of room to write on and easy for the customers to read. Once a piece is sold, we write it's name on the back and know what needs to be replaced. danny 1 Quote
Dan Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 I think people get a kick out of checking price tags. Even if you have a section with a price on it people still ask "how much". I say label them all. Quote
Fab4 Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 Hi Danny: I agree with Dan - label them all This way there is no confusion - Your $30 item will end up in the $10 pile, then what? You took the time to cut out whatever it is you do, now take the time to label them Remember, no job is complete until the paperwork is done We use white labels and cut them into 1 to 2" squares, write the price on them and stick it on the back Fab4 danny 1 Quote
Lucky2 Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 Dan, unless you want to be answering the same question all day long, then you had better get around to labeling them. People want to know how much each item is, without labels they will all have to ask you. Are you ready for that, do you want to answer that many questions? I've had a couple of people claim that I would favor friends, and that I would quote a lowball price for friends. Since then, I have priced each and every item, it does make things a lot easier. danny Posted November 8, 2017 Author Report Posted November 8, 2017 Thank Yous to Everyone for your thoughts. Well I have Always Labeled each piece in the past, so after reading all your reply's I think I shall just Label each. Reason I wanted to change was because of thoughts to be able to get people to ask the price and then I could get them involved. OK.... Live n Learn Thanks again ............ Danny :+} Quote
JimErn Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 I have the same recommendation, include the price tag When I shop a trade fair, I will not ask for a price, I want to see it up front. danny 1 Quote
orangeman Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 (edited) I display each of my puzzles on a slanted board. There is velcro above the puzzle where I attach a label. I have bagged puzzles in boxes under the display shelf. One of my competitors shrink wraps his puzzles but I have found folks want to feel the wood. And sometimes the buyer wants the display puzzle because it has a different grain pattern. Switching out then would be cumbersome with shrink wrapped puzzles. tonylumps Posted November 9, 2017 Report Posted November 9, 2017 I shrink wrap everything .I Use my price tag gun on everything and the tag comes off easy to .I also cut a couple of pieces out of the shrink wrap to show the finished product or when someone wants to see a certain piece The shrink wrap saves a lot of grief in the long run. Danny :+} yes ,but a non removeable sticker will keep honest people honest! Quote
MrsN Posted November 9, 2017 Report Posted November 9, 2017 I would tend to label everything. As a shopper, I won't buy it unless I know how much it is, and I don't always want to ask. Quote
