Damascus Knives

My brother-in-law, who builds tables, asked if I could make a couple of gift knives and stands for him. He got the blanks and I did the rest. Of course it's Russian Olive. He doesn't work with anything else. The lighting on the pictures isn't great, but the burls really show well with the Damascus patterns. I steam bent the knife holders and mounted them on a couple of live edge scraps.

That is some beautiful work all around. That stuff makes some nice knives. I see people use that material for making pens and it is stunning. Really makes a statement. Thanks for showing.
