Looking for basket patterns

I have a number of basket patterns but they are all round... would like to find some oblong patterns. I have all the patterns by Alex Fox and many more round patterns

is a cool site. It has something called PolyDraw. It lets you draw your own bowl patterns and you can do oval

I bought a book from Amazon by the title of Boxe, bowls, and baskets by Fox Chapel. I think it might be out of print but it's still available. I'm doing a basket right now that was in the book. Here is a pic.

I have done that one also. Used various woods. Many types of baskets weather scrolled or not.

@heppnerguy I have used PolyDraw. I followed the tutorials and made a few different designs and several baskets from the patterns. Let me know if you have any questions and I can try to help.

I haven't taken the time to fully test this but I think it should work.

Whoa Katie, I just looked at your pattern and fell off my stool. Whooosey! But, nice job anyway.

Be interesting to try to put that bowl together.  Each layer needs to be off set  so there is something to glue to.  You could keep rotating each layer of alternate the direction of each  one?  Hope someone does it to see how it works.

Try importing the patterns you have into Inkscape and then change the shape. Make them longer and shorter (oval or oblong) shouldn’t be too hard to do.

Thanks Katie ... it was easy to cut ... a bit tricky to assemble but overall not bad. I did cut two ... this is the other one

Try doing an "image" search on Google. I will give it a try. Here's the image from Facebook entry. I tried to do a search but so far, no go.

 

Ok, here's the pattern. Graciously given by the maker on Facebook. He found it on Pinterest but said it's very hard to locate so he just gave it to me.

Old messages but I was looking for oval baskets and this came up.  I am trying to figure out how to assemble the cut outs.  I can understand rotating the cuts in a round bowl but how to do it in an oval. bowl.  Inquiring mind wants to know.
