Welcome. I have been scrolling for close to 20 years and use Baltic birch for most projects. With sanding and some imagination with staining some great results can be achieved. From small to large projects. As shown here I find it becomes a Zen thing you, the saw and the wood i

About a year ago I lost my wife to complications with cancer. I took a few months off to get used to my new life ... shown are a few samples of some of the work I have been doing to get ready for some craft shows this fall. I have a variety of crosses and other layered items. I will be posting more items later .... I feels good to be making sawdust again.

Greetings I strayed from doing a lot of scroll sawing and spent a good amount of time practicing pyrography, (wood Burning). I am back to the scroll saw and now trying to combine both skills.LAtely I have been making bowls/baskets. I am also finding layered patterns intriguing to cut. Alex Fox has a shop on Etsy for selling his patterns. also the Siberian Woodworker has a shop on Etsy for his patterns. I have purchased most of the patterns from each. I will post a few pictures of finished products from Alex Fox patterns. I have bowls cut but ot finished yet from the Siberian Woodworker...also posting bowl with the wood burning

I have been using A Dewalt for over 14 years... last summer I purchased a new EX-30... great saw... I love the depth BUT ... i seem to have a bit of a problem installing blades... many times I tighten the bottom blade .. then when I insert the top blade in the clamp and tighten the lever the blade pulls out of the top clamp... unless I loosen the arm tension a bit.... is this normal with the EX saws?? Because of this I tend to gravitate back to my DeWalt for most of my sawing.... Maybe something I have to play around with some more

Thanks Katie ... it was easy to cut ... a bit tricky to assemble but overall not bad. I did cut two ... this is the other one

Too much every day "stuff" has been keeping me busy .... 2 more months and then my time on the city council comes to an end. After 4 terms (16 years) I decided not to run again.... more time for important pastimes.... I have 9 or 10 clocks cut but they have to be sanded, stained and assembled... this includes the top 2 floors of the Wilckins Tower of Time Clock. Weather is improving so I can open the overhead door in the shop and sand with a fan behind me blowing all the sawdust out. I have also been working on perfecting my wood burning... three of my latest attempts shown Dave now The Pyro-Troll and The Scroll Troll

welcome ... I picked up scroll sawing as a hobby about 15 years ago.... glad I did... I am now branching off into pyrography also .... (wood burning)... soon to blend the two together

Great job Kevin I now have some ideas to work on for future shows

Scroll Saw - Wildlife pictures and wood burning endeavors
David Lehner replied to David Lehner's topic in Bragging Rights
Thanks everyone.... As I perfect my wood burning skills I am going to try to incorporate it into some of my scroll projects. I am looking for a pattern to cut and then embellish with wood burning -
Have a good time .... My vacation in August will be at our cabin in Minnesota.... Since I am not hauling a scroll saw down there I am taking some wood burning projects with me to work on.... Just getting into another aspect of working with wood ... someday the wood burning and the scroll sawing will merge

David Lehner replied to SCROLLSAW703's topic in General Scroll Sawing
Well said.... I am on our City Council... I know that even when things appear to be going smoothly and everyone is happy .... There is always someone out there who is upset and grumbling -
