  1. I'm not sure if thisi subject has been discussed in the past... probably has. Too create more bench space has anyone built or have plans for a flip top power tool stand. I believe sears made one years ago that help 3 bench top tools but it is no longer available. ( I would purchase one if I could). I'm thinking of something for my bench top sanders. I don't use the spindle sander or the 1 inch belt sander as much as the others. I thought this might be a way to have them accessible but not taking up extra space. I'm thinking I will have to build something unless some one has another idea. any help would be appreciated. Thanks I've found some plans ... More interested to see if anyone has built one and finds it successful
  2. I guess I am the oddball in the group.... For all my finished pieces I sand both sides with a Mouse sander, various grits depending on the project. I've never had a problem with pieces breaking.... for shaping and fine tuning pieces for clock assembly I have an 6 inch belt sander with a 9 inch disk on the side. I also have a 1 inch belt sander with a 4 inch disk and a spindle sander for shaping I am probably a it unconventional in the way I do things but I am self taught and I guess it works for me....
  3. Many years ago (when I had only one saw) I started stocking the most common parts I needed for my DeWalt saws.... I have most of the common parts.... I also act as a parts house for area DeWalt users if they need a part in a hurry.. Some of the parts interchange with my older Ex-21
  4. I just checked the Seyco website. I see they are out of all Excalibur scroll saws... but have the new Jet ... hopefully they are discontinuing the Excalibur.... I have a couple DeWalts that go back to the day Seyco made the DeWalts.. I also have an Ex 21 and an Ex 30.... too many saws ....not enough time
  5. ok ... I made it to my shop yesterday and spent a couple hours using my new Pegas blades..... i will have to admit that upon using them for the first time I will admit they seem to be a great cutting blade.. this afternoon I plan on spending more time using them.. and again tomorrow (unless we get our 5 to 8 inches of snow) then I will spend quality time with one of my other favorite machines ... My John Deere Snowblower
  6. Pegas blades arrived yesterday.... missing the size 7 but not a big deal.... As I said on another post ... Blizzard is over (only in North Dakota does an Amtrak train get stuck in the snow for 13 hours).. But this weekend could bring another 3 - 9 inches over three days ... So I plan on spending time in the shop with new blades in between moving some snow. Hopefully more time making sawdust and less time making snowfog
  7. Great looking clock .... I have had the pattern for a while but have not started... Still working on The Tower of Time Clock from Wilckins Woodworking. I have 3 other patterns... I buy them when looking through catalogs but have to be in the right frame of mind to begin a new large clock
  8. I will be heading to the shop later today and throughout the weekend.... Temps tonight may hit 15 below zero. Good thing the shop is insulated and heated..... still working on a number of clocks and getting the urge to cut some more wildlife scenes

  20. so far I have had good luck with refurbished tools. I have quite a few of various types... I would go for it
  21. Good to hear your saw is back in working order. I guess I am a collector or hoarder.... if I see a good deal on Dewalt saws I grab it so I have a spare(s) .... but I guess I am lucky as I have only had minor repairs to do that I can do myself... I do keep some extra parts on hand just in case. That has been helpful to others in town who need parts and know I have some.
  22. From North Dakota ... Get better soon I would be interested in seeing the layout of your shop when completed... Always interested to see how to get the most use out of limited space Good Luck
