It's the software that comes with the machine free, Carbide create and Carbide motion and create whatever you want and set thickness of wood tools etc and then import into motion to cut the work, really simple loads of help and videos. I'm only a beginner loads to learn can't wait to do a dogΒ on a house sign. watch this space.Β Quote

Just my 2 cents worth This is what makes the world go round, different strokes for different folks Fab4 Well done, Roly Actually, there is satisfaction after completing something with it. Β There is a lot more thought, work, and effort to use one then many people realize. Β But seeing your "idea" come to fruition after working it out on the computer screen, setting it up, etc. there is still satisfaction when it all works like you hoped it would. That said, it does many things that I can't do with my scroll saw and many of the things I do with my scroll saw I wouldn't do with the CNC. Β The time to set it all up and prepare it to run etc. and i can already have it done with my scroll saw.Β Β We got one as a joint Christmas gift. Β But I confess, I was hesitant to mention it on here because I didn't want anyone upset with me or kicking me out. I love it here and still love my scroll saw. However, I have enjoyed working with the CNC and doingΒ "carving" or engravingΒ with it. Β It adds to what I can do and create. Β All that said, I don't sell products I create and craft it for fun and I can understand those who do and have to compete against laser cutters and cnc machined products. Β I would never try to pass off a project I crafted with the CNC as a "hand made" project. Β I hope you can forgive Roly and I for dabbling on the dark side.Β Phantom Scroller and Fab4 2 Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted July 18, 2018 Author Report Posted July 18, 2018 Great getting betterΒ at it here's a couple more testers planning making signs with dog breeds and horses with the house names combined or for the doors of the horse stables my scrollsaw can't do carving . So that is my satisfaction and I've yet to do 3d and while it's wheezing away I'm on the lathe turning or scrollin' howΒ cool is that. Happy days Paul.Β Β Fab4, meflick and bobscroll 3 Quote
125 CSL Posted July 21, 2018 Report Posted July 21, 2018 Have been looking at them for a while. The prices keep on dropping. I suspect in a few years most S/S users will have one. It looks like you can do most of what is done on a scroll. Phantom Scroller 1 Quote

I would get the XL Version not the standard one I have it only cutsΒ 16 X 16 and the other are double that size might have to upgrade to make mine bigger even thinking of the laser attachment for it . And loads of others I've given to friends. Β meflick 1 Quote
