Hawk Posted October 3, 2018 Report Posted October 3, 2018 I'm planning to build a tub shelf for my wife this winter. She loves her claw foot tub, but has been asking for a shelf to put stuff on while in the tub. What's the best adhesive for teak?, Or just use screws? Thanks, Chris Quote
loftyhermes Posted October 4, 2018 Report Posted October 4, 2018 I would say a good epoxy glue, something like the West System. Quote
fredfret Posted October 4, 2018 Report Posted October 4, 2018 Screws are the best option as teak is such an oily wood most glues are only temporary. amazingkevin 1 Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted October 4, 2018 Report Posted October 4, 2018 Polyethylene glue gorilla glue expandable to fill the gaps. Roly Quote
Roberta Moreton Posted October 4, 2018 Report Posted October 4, 2018 I seem to remember that Norm wiped teak with something, (alcohol?) before gluing. I think it was the bench outside of his shop. Quote
