Heli_av8tor Posted November 23, 2018 Report Posted November 23, 2018 Looking for some guidelines on choosing fonts. Do you have a favorite goto font? Does it change based on whether the letters are remain with the piece vs cut out of the piece, or if the letters are all kerned to touch each other? Do you have a favorite site to download fonts? Do you use standard fonts and make bridges to support the letters with floating parts (O P R Q A)? Quote
RabidAlien Posted November 23, 2018 Report Posted November 23, 2018 I use dafont.com (hat-tip to Travis for pointing out this site in his Inkscape tutorial!). So far, most of what I've used is the "Grease" font, then once I get the pattern set up, I'll save it as a .png file and open it up in Gimp to remove the little highlight spots in the letters and change it to a light red color. Gimp also lets me bridge over to floating parts. Quote
loftyhermes Posted November 23, 2018 Report Posted November 23, 2018 My two most used fonts are Cooper Black for stand up letters and when I need to cut out of the piece I use Scroll Beach Italic. Quote
Heli_av8tor Posted November 29, 2018 Author Report Posted November 29, 2018 Thanks guys. Just trying to learn Inkscape. Is Gimp easier to put bridges in letters? Tom Quote
