New - to me anyway - use for spiral blades

Often, especially when I glue multiple puzzle patterns to a board, I have to cut that board down to manageable sizes

A Spiral blade makes that easy!

I keep practicing with spirals, but anything resembling a straight line is ... not happening yet.  But to separate patterns, I don't need real straight lines.

• Here is a tip that works for me, instead of moving the work with the straight line away from you, reverse the work and pull it to you. For me this is so much easier to get a straight cut this way.

Cutting a straight line with a spiral can be a challenge.  It is not what they are made for.  I can do it, I go real slow with my feeding and I concentrate on the side the blade I have next to the line I want to follow.  I concentrate so hard that that is all I see, that line and that portion of the blade.  If the line is a long one, when I an done, I take a Tylenol for the headache.  Actually if I have a long straight line, I switch to a flat blade.  I changes blades often when I scroll something if there are several different types of cuts in it.  Changing blades is simple and fast.

I have some spiral blades. I use them when life is going to good for me and I need some extra aggravation.
