Wayne - I'm trying to imagine this design. Did you design this with two contrasting wood, one for the lettering and one for the base? If I understand this, part of the P goes into the base. I'm thinking part of the P would disappear into the base. The word art patterns I've seen have the lettering above and glued, screwed to the base. If I'm getting this its an interesting design, I haven't thought of pushing the lettering below the standing surface. RJF

I have used this design for several commissions. I use red oak and stain them different color of contrast. The center support is 1/2" wide and the letter he requested was 3/4" so you will automatically get shadow lines once things are assembled. Using contrasting colors really makes the name part stand out . Hope I explained this to understand better.
