I had wanted to do my dad something that would work in his gun room. Well, this idea came to me by a member of a Facebook page I’m part of. It was cut on a 16 inch WEN using #5 Pegas spiral blades. I had never used spirals before and this was a learning curve. Took it slow and I was happy with the outcome even though I sanded a good bit afterwards. I wound up breaking 3 blades as well I’m this cutting process.

I painted it with a flat black enamel spray paint. I used the LED strip from the automotive section at Walmart since they were extremely bright and I hardwired them to a 12V wall plug I had laying around.

You did a great job on the for sure.  I have to ask, why did you use a spiral on it.  I use spirals a lot, but for something like this, I would not even think of a spiral blade.  Long straight lines a certainly doable with spiral, but not easily.  Then top it off with that thick of wood... make is hard with a spiral.  This is just my opinion and experience with them.  Obviously they worked very well for you on this project.

I used a spiral because my saw is only 16 inches and the piece was 32 inches long. Thank you. Believe me, there was a lot of sanding.

I use that same saw!!!!  I've used spirals for parts of one project (still ongoing), and find that they're great for just about everything except when I'm pulling the piece towards me....they don't want to cut as well that direction, and its difficult to see the pattern and know where to stop, so I got in the habit of flipping the pattern around so I could push the piece into the saw.  Still works!!!!

LOVE the project, LOVE the LED lightstrip (the ongoing project I mentioned above will be backlit as well)!  Stay Sawdusty, my friend!

Why the warning?

I don't think there are many, if any, snowflakes here😉

I know. Just have to cover my bases unfortunately. I posted it in a group on FB and it got all kinds of flack from snowflakes that saw a black gun cutout and immediately got “TRIGGERED” 🙄

HA-HA. Just think of how much $$ the counselors made off your post! You should get a commission.

Gimme a break. I'm sick and tired of all the libtard BS these days.
