savethebeer Posted September 12, 2019 Report Posted September 12, 2019 3 or 4 days ago I was wandering through the web, as you do, and I came across a type of scroll saw that I had never seen before. I decided to post photos and ask did any villagers use such a saw. Tonight I went looking for the site to find the photos but I looked through every site I could think of, then I went right through my History, going back 5 days but I have yet to find the site I looked at that night. It is on sale, on this site that I can't find, for about €1,200. It has a smallish table, but what is unique is that the blade rotates 360 degrees and controlled by a large horizontal aluminium wheel beneath the table. What the blurb said was you moved the wood with one hand and rotated the blade with the other hand by moving the flat wheel underneath the table. From what I could see from my brief browsing was there was no need to rotate the wood, just the blade as you worked your way through the pattern. I was sober on the night, but a little bit tired. So please tell me i didn't imagine this saw. Bob Quote
bandaideman Posted September 12, 2019 Report Posted September 12, 2019 Very interesting just trying to think it through as to what it would look like and how it would work. Hope you find it again but I have not seen one like this. Sounds like you could do a way with spiral blades if you use them. Quote
jerry1939 Posted September 13, 2019 Report Posted September 13, 2019 I searched 3 sites & came up short. 1. I think you were drinking. 2. You probably were tired. 3. You even dream about fantasy saws that don't exist. 4. Possibly all of the above. jerry amazingkevin 1 Quote
oldhudson Posted September 13, 2019 Report Posted September 13, 2019 You might have better luck if you post your query under the "GENERAL SCROLL SAWING" category. I think a number of villagers to visit this category. Although I could be wrong? Quote
jollyred Posted September 13, 2019 Report Posted September 13, 2019 It sounds like you would need more coordination than I have to keep up with it. Quote
WoodCutter Posted September 13, 2019 Report Posted September 13, 2019 I have been thinkin on this saw and I think that turning the blade wood be a problem as the blade gos up and down. Just imagine a handel on that bouncing betty. Quote

Bill WIlson Posted September 13, 2019 Report Posted September 13, 2019 Heck, I can read through a thread, see a post I want to comment on about 1/2 way through, finish reading the rest of the thread and then not be able to find the post I was going to reply to. Quote
