Yes, I found a nice piece there. Thanks

Sorry, I got a little mixed up with the vendors. I actually found what I was looking for at "Rare Woods of Maine".

Sorry for the mistake

You didn’t say what your source was. Try Ochooch.com

Ocooch is out of stock at this time. I did find a nice piece at "Rare Woods of Maine".

Thanks for the reply

Thanks to all who replied to my posting for Yellow Heart

I did find what I was looking for at "Rare Woods of Maine.

Thanks

Ben

I may look at that source but I'm afraid of the shipping costs. Being I'm a short hop to the Mexican border and Maine is about as far as is possible from me. The wood would be properly aged by the time I ever see it. lol

Ocooch and Woodcraft have reported that Yellow heart has been added to an endangered species list. Does anyone know which list this is?   I have looked at both the CITES Appendices and the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. It does not appear on either of those. The Red List does have the Yellow Bleeding Heart flower, but that has nothing to do with the wood.

When I spoke to Ocooch a couple of months ago they told me yellowheart was on the endangered species list and would no longer be available. I checked  their web site a few day ago and low and behold, they have it in stock again. I have not questioned them about this. You may try and see what is going on.

Here is the email I got from Ethan at Ocooch. This was in March
I posted this on another forum.

I just got an email from Ethan at Ocooch Lumber and was informed of the following
Ethan: "Yellowheart was just recently listed as an endangered species and importing of the lumber to the US has stopped. It is unlikely we will ever carry it again."

Miscommunications somewhere.

You basically received the same reply I did.

I decided to go to Ocooch and ordered 2 pieces of Yellowheart before it's really gone. I really like working with that wood. I'm working on a Yellow Fin Tuna Intarsia right now.  It's pricey, but in my opinion, worth it.

They will ship free I believe with a $100,00  order. What I like about them, you get to pick your lumber. They have hundreds of pics of the actual boards you can purchase. I have ordered from them 2 times and have been quite satisfied with my purchase. It's free to take a look.Along the Pacific coast your way there is Cook Lumber. They also have actual pics of boards to purchase and one more in your area the Handsome Woodsman.
