I use the lighted Magnifying lamps at my scroll saws.... I have the Harbor Freight one which has a fluorescent bulb and an expensive one that has glass lens and LED bulb.  My expensive one quit working when in got hit by the upper arm of my Hegner saw when a blade broke.... I took it all apart but could not get it working or see any thing wrong... but the LED light was dead....  I thought... Anyway I hung onto it. just hated to throw it out... I bought a second HF one to replace it.  Today I tried to find parts for the LED one... and could find nothing... I search every way I could, with every number I found on the light.....nothing..  Time to give up and throw it out.... Well lets take it apart one more time and look at it.... I did,,, I tapped and shook and probed,,,,nothing I could see that was wrong... I had no real way to check the circuit board.. so I put it all back together..  plugged it in one more time and WALLA!!!  it worked!!   must have jiggled the right thing!!

Something to think about on those lights... I searched and I can replace the bulb in the fluorescent one,,, but doesn't appear to be a replacement for the LED one...

Good that your light is working again!.
One thing that can happen is that dust finds its way into the contact points.  Another less common thing is a crack in the circuit traces of the circuit board.  Poorly soldered parts are also common especially with highly discounted Chinese merchandise.
Speaking of highly discounted Chinese merchandise, I just bought an LED goose neck light called a "sewing machine light" for $10 on Amazon.  It works excellent (very bright and perfect for a scroll saw) but I discovered that when the base gets in close proximity of a strong magnet (like my 1" cube rare earth magnet), the LED light fails..  I am thinking that the on/off switch must have a metal part that bends away from its contacts when it gets close to a strong rare earth magnet.   I suppose the inductance of the inductor in the switching power supply might go wonky in the presence of a super strong magnetic field.  Who knows?  Lol!

Just goes to show that if you try enough times you can get it fixed or lucky. Happy you got the light fixed / working. My wife expects me to take everything apart and fixit. Told her taking anything apart is easy. Remembering how it all goes back together, now that's the challenging part.

Wayne you're lucky. My wife has a habit of taking things apart then realizing she is in over her head and leaves it for me to put back. I told her that from now on I would like it if she would a least take a picture of the item before she starts.
