Ouch! Reminds me of the time I put the needle of an industrial sewing machine though my finger. I'm glad you are healing. I hear that alcohol helps the healing, just don't put it on the fingers.

Many years ago I was working in a cabinet factory and one of the blokes dropped an 8' x 4' x 3/4 inch sheet of chippy on his big toe. Within minutes a mighty blood blister developed under the toe nail. The advice was to heat a small drill  bit and just turn it backwards and forwards on the nail until it wore through and then puncture the blister.
Well, he couldn't grip the small bit tight enough so it was suggested that he chuck it into a drill and then just turn the chuck backwards and forwards. To cut a long story short, the drill was plugged in, and he hit the trigger and promptly drilled a hole through the nail, the toe and into the floor. You wouldn't believe the smile on his face, as he said the relief from that blister was worth it :)
