This question is mostly for Hegner owners/users.   I am getting ready to buy a new Hegner, what accessories, spare parts (for the saw) would you recommend that I get? I like to cut intricate fretwork, stacked pieces, and the heart boxes which are cut from 1 1/2 oak.

Thanks in advance. :)

The clamps come in pairs... I have not "worn" any out yet,,, but I did buy a spare set.. I am on my second "quick clamp"... but it was not necessary... The Hegner is pretty solid and parts have away been ready available.. I did replace the tension rod on mine last year... Mine is a 2010 model, was  an Advanced Machinery demo saw...  I replaced it because it seemed like it was turning when it should not... not sure it wasn't my imagination.   I really have not had a failure where I had to stop and wait for a part.. But, I don't know what to tell you... You could buy 2 saws,,, just in case..  who knows how long Advanced Machinery is going to be in business... But in reality... I think your chances for parts and good service are far better than with any other saw..  The sleeve bearing,,, I think could be found else where..

Would you recommend a spare clamp and or a spare lower clamp?

Any spare parts, such as the sleeve bearing that have been discussed?

I think these saws are made to last most of some ones life time.. Not a Hegner owner / user but I can clearly see they are built very well.. Most saw manufactures design the saws to use standard bushings / bearings.. I mean why reinvent the wheel to be special to your brand equipment as that is more time at the drawing board, LOL.. so really the bearings / bushings are almost always available at a hardware or bearing shop. I myself don't really see a need to buy parts in advance unless you own a Hawk.. as they are difficult to get some parts for if they are not in stock.. and they don't stock much.. so parts for a Hawk might be a good idea.. That said though.. they too are built well and many parts could be had at a hardware or? store..

Hi

I have had my saw for years and have only replaced a couple minor things. Buy one hegner with quick clamp on top, get a foot switch, put the oil where it needs it on top of the arm on the back end where arrows are and you should be good for years. yes advanced has spare parts and is very good for shiipping and help.

Good luck

I agree with all that's been said already.  The only thing I have had to replace is the air bellows - rubber moving part that develops a leak after 30 years of use?  The shame of it.  LOL

One extra that I like is the light bracket that holds the lamp: https://www.advmachinery.com/products/lamp-mounting-bracket

Here is a pic of what mine looks like.
