Popular Post Zoot Fenster Posted February 27, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted February 27, 2021 The shop was down for the Texas Freeze, but we are back into the 70s again. This piece was wenge, walnut, curly maple and gummy cherry. I tried really maximizing the elevation differences. The sky is 1/4" (which is pretty thin to edge glue). Part of the lighthouse is 1 1/8" and everything in between. I won't do that again. Intarsia is more like painting than sculpting. Depth is more illusion than reality. Although I am learning to like vertical edges. Everything cut with #5 skiptooth. All of the horizontal cuts created some mismatch in the vertical dimension. But it was the best I could do with the skills I have today. On to Sunflower in a Pot. TexasDIY, Ceric ME, Roberta Moreton and 13 others 16 Quote

ben2008 Posted February 28, 2021 Report Posted February 28, 2021 Intarsia, my favorite type of woodworking. Your choice of wood is outstanding. I especially like the various species, color and grain patterns. Creating depth makes all the difference. You did a really nice job. Quote
