Wichman Posted December 3, 2021 Report Posted December 3, 2021 So how do you transport your product into and out from a craftshow? I have used a vertical hand truck and a collapsible wagon, neither of which has works as well as I would like. I'm thinking of a platform truck or one of those convertable hand truck / platform truck combos. kmmcrafts 1 Quote
Jim Finn Posted December 3, 2021 Report Posted December 3, 2021 I have, and use, a hand truck that can expand out to 7 feet and has four wheels. It can be used vertically to move a fridge or extended and laid down on the other set of wheels and rolled like a cart or wagon. I have had it 14 years now I think. kmmcrafts and Wichman 1 1 Quote

Dan Posted December 4, 2021 Report Posted December 4, 2021 Most of the ones I did, when I was into craft shows, had people that would unload your vehicle and take everything, except the vehicle, to your booth. Other than that it was just a lot of trips back and forth. Quote
Puzzleguy Posted December 5, 2021 Report Posted December 5, 2021 We have a couple of magliner hand tucks - a large one thats adaptable to 4 wheels- a fold down 4 wheeler ( when we use to have a full size van ) and a smaller version for our mini van - over time weve been working on making our displays smaller, our loads lighter - and basically make our lives easier for in and out procedures ( weight is your enemy ) They seem exspensive , but with time and their light weight -over the long run they are a smart move -honestly downsizing to a mini van is one of the smartest things we ever did. I bought my magliners on Ebay - best place to buy them. i reccomend them for value ! Quote
Devin Wilson Posted December 8, 2021 Report Posted December 8, 2021 I pull a 5x8 utility trailer behind my truck. If the show area is on a street or open area where I can get the trailer in and out pretty easy I just pull up to our booth If not we use the garden cart linked below. All of our products are in bins which makes it easy. We use this garden cart and it just stays in the trailer. We can usually haul everything with 2 trips using this cart. https://www.harborfreight.com/1000-lb-mesh-deck-steel-wagon-60359.html Quote
new2woodwrk Posted December 8, 2021 Report Posted December 8, 2021 (edited) IMO if you do craft shows, having a trailer is one of the best investments you can make! We have become extremely reliant on ours as it saves us so much time and effort! Not only does it help to transport, but you can also use it as an on and off site warehouse! We keep all our products in the trailer 24/7 For sites we can't get the trailer close enough (which is seldom as it is a requirement for our outdoor events now), we use the HF wago @Devin Wilson linked. We also have a Rock-n-Roller cart as well. All our inventory is in bins for easy transport in/out Edited December 8, 2021 by new2woodwrk Quote

Wichman Posted December 9, 2021 Author Report Posted December 9, 2021 I just found this at a thrift store. $20 and spent $23 for the piece that bolts onto the Bicycle. I'm planning on striping it to the bottom frame and making a flatbed trailer out of it. The farmers market that I use for selling is 1/2 mile away on flat ground. The craft fair I just attended is about 1 1/2miles, again on flat ground. Quote
Puzzleguy Posted December 23, 2021 Report Posted December 23, 2021 (edited) My intensions concerning any event is keeping the weight down , efficient packing- getting in and out easily and quickly . we use to have a full size ford Van with a medium size trailer - But with time ( and age ) we got rid of the trailer - Then we got rid of the full size Van - and then we went with a mini Van - and even down sized my 4 wheel cart -to the magliner ( high quality very light, smaller version - but not a cheap alternative ) im getting older and being easier in and out and lighter will keep me happier and keep me in the game ! Merry Christmas ! Edited December 23, 2021 by Puzzleguy Quote
