Hi from Australia - VIctoria

Hi everyone… new joiner… live in southern Victoria near Warrnambool near the coast of the Great Southern Ocean.   Been scrolling for a few months now and wish I had started years ago!

Originally from the US and was used to working with all the northern woods… Douglas Fir, walnut, oak, maple, poplar and others… now here in Australia the majority of the woods are gums (eucalypts) and while lovely woods they are heavy and hard… so fun to work…

I use a Taiwanese clone of a Hegner 18”. Made by TruPro Tec from Carbatec. Great little saw for the money.. solid cast iron, and runs like a top

Look forward to participating on this forum.

Cheers

Randy

hi welcome.  Did it take long to learn to stand on your head and turn counter clockwise rather than clockwise?  I'v e turned some of those woods as well as sawed them.  Nice grain and looks good when fished.  keep us up to date on your experiences.

Welcome Randy. Happy to have you on board with all of us. log on often so we all can get to know each other better. Make comments on other people's post and post some of your work so we can see what sort of items you  enjoy. If you have any  questions about scrolling, just go ahead and ask. There is so much knowledge here and everyone seems to enjoy passing on the wisdom they have to others. So, from Southern Arizona....WELCOME
