Sycamore67 Posted July 14, 2022 Report Posted July 14, 2022 (edited) A couple of years ago, I collected some geodes near Keokuk, Iowa. I have been looking for a way to display them and came up with this. I broke open a small window on one side. Then, I drilled a hole with a diamond drill to insert a small LED. I drilled a second hole and epoxied a threaded rod so I could bolt the Geode to a red oak box. I wired it with a 9 volt battery and a momentary switch. I initially made one but have since given several away and may need to go back and collect more geodes. It is pretty easy to collect them but you do get dirty. Oldmansbike Posted July 24, 2022 Report Posted July 24, 2022 Do you live around Keokuk? I love north of art Madison. Quote
Sycamore67 Posted July 24, 2022 Author Report Posted July 24, 2022 I live in NW Indiana but have visited Keokuk a number of times over the years. I even went to a Geode Party, get together with a lot of people and was called Betty Scheffler Day. She had a unique geode covered house. If you are interested in collecting geodes, contact Scheffler Rock Shop in Alexandria, Missouri. Quote
