Weather Station

I have always wanted a weather station and finally bought one on Amazon Prime Day at a really great price.   It is the Ambient Weather WS-2000 and installed it in my back yard. The hardest part was getting the 4x4 post in the groun and attaching the galvanized pipe to it.  There is a console in my house to see the data.  It also sores data so you can dump it into Excel and make graphs and such. I am anxious to get a storm and watch the wind and rain.

Does anyone else have a weather station?

We've talked about getting a weather station setup, just haven't taken that leap yet.  So far we just rely on several weather websites and the front window.    Of course, this being Texass, the weather sites usually have different temps and forecasts, even the same site on Internet and mobile app.  Its all a big guess.

I was impressed at how easy it was to set up. I had to put the anemometer cups on, put the wind vane on,  put in batteries and a couple other things.  Most difficult was putting up post and pole.  I just plugged in the receiver next to my LazyBoy and it connected.

I have always been interested in the weather.  In NW Indiana we see lots of extremes and severe weather.  Years ago was visiting relatives in Nebraska when the house we were in got hit with a tornado taking off the upper floor.  No train sound but just a terrific whoomp.

I have Ambient Weather Model WS-2909C. Love it. It appears very accurate based on other local weather stations I've looked at. It has tracked everything weather related from the first day I installed it.

Always wanted one but our weather here is boring.

Add me in the always wanted one column.. My neighbor has one... wondered if I could sneak over some night and tap into it.. but I live out in the sticks and people are not very forgiving of others sneaking around on their property at night,,or in the daytime for that matter..  Not worth the consequences if caught.. Also my neighbors big lab loves me I mean he L-O-V-E-S me .. I can not enter their property without protection... He wants very badly to violate me... (if you know what I mean),,
