barb.j.enders Posted January 1, 2023 Report Posted January 1, 2023 My brother reached out to me inquiring if I could make a number of these ornaments. Can anyone make a couple of patterns for me, please? There needs to be a small(ish) change though. Instead of DDGM 15-16 it needs to read Grand Master, and one that would read Grand Historian. Thanks in advance for consideration. John B 1 Quote
don in brooklin on Posted January 2, 2023 Report Posted January 2, 2023 I will give it a go. But I looked up the Masonic emblem and there are a number of different ones. Does your brother have a picture of his or is this a good representation. Look at the G, I am not sure how small the letters will have to be but I doubt they will fit. Put on 2 lines?? Any idea on the final size.? Quote
Dan Posted January 2, 2023 Report Posted January 2, 2023 Like Don said, it's doable. There are many different emblems with different details (and probably different meanings). Here's a more generic design. If this fits the bill I will make the next one. Square_compasses.pdf Dave Monk, John B and ChelCass 3 Quote

I haven't yet talked to him about this. He sent this photo, so I am assuming this design is okay. I have asked him about the size and would 2 lines be okay. Haven't heard back from him. As soon as I do, I will post the information here. Edited January 2, 2023 by barb.j.enders Quote

I was a member of the AOOF (Ancient Order of Foresters). Both my Grandfather and great uncle were Grand Masters. Edited January 3, 2023 by John B danny and barb.j.enders 2 Quote
barb.j.enders Posted January 5, 2023 Author Report Posted January 5, 2023 I chatted with my brother last night about this. It is to be kept quite simple. Yeah! A basic compass & square (without the markings) and the G are all that is required. Plus the bottom section to put the words in. Two lines is fine. The preferred font would be Quattrocentos or Raleway. He would like it to be about 4x4 but can be as big as 6x6. If the "popsicle stick area" (his words) is too small for cutting the words, his suggestion was to leave it available for a calligrapher to write on it. I now leave this in your very capable hands, pattern designers. Thanks again for any help. ChelCass 1 Quote
Dan Posted January 6, 2023 Report Posted January 6, 2023 Both of these should be the 4". Not sure why they are displaying different sizes. Hope they work for you. If you want any changes just let me know. Hopefully someone will toss in their drawings to give you a choice. Grand Master.pdf Grand Historian.pdf John B and ChelCass 2 Quote
