Stretch Posted February 14, 2024 Report Posted February 14, 2024 My kid sister's cat died suddenly recently. It jumped up on the bed next to her made a funny sound and died . She was very attached to this cat named "Bear". I would love to do a portrait of Bear for her, I have never scrolled a portrait yet. If anyone would like to make a pattern for me you would have my sincere thanks and appreciation. If I tried myself I am afraid Bear might look like a Bear I have included a few pics of Bear so that someone with an eye for patterns could choose the best one for a scrollsaw pattern. If You got this far thanks for reading and considering helping me with my project! danny 1 Quote
preprius Posted February 15, 2024 Report Posted February 15, 2024 Another idea for an easy add on project. Take one of those pics print it out and glue in on wood. Then drill holes to make hilights. Then remove the print. I made a cat food can opener. I used "Niles bottle stopper" (company name) can opener. I also did a bottle stoppers with cat pics. Another one was a cell phone holder with a dog pic. But for portrait fretwork patterns are best. Quote
meflick Posted February 15, 2024 Report Posted February 15, 2024 Perhaps @Travis could move this over to the “Pattern Requests” subforum where I think it would be more likely to be seen by those who try to help with patterns. danny and ChelCass 2 Quote

Still hoping someone offers to do a pattern but I will certainly consider this for some projects! Thanks! Quote

It is now, Travis must have moved it after I made my post (and tagged him so he would know) and before you had returned to the forum. You posted it initially in the subforum “Pattern Making.” There is the overall sub-forum “Pattern Central” which is generally anything g related asking general questions about pattern making, to sharing free patterns, and asking for personalized patterns. Those are broken down into 3 more specific sub-forums. “Pattern Making,” which tends to be general questions about making patterns. “Pattern Exchange” which is where people post and share their free patterns they have made (not specific requests) and then “Pattern Requests.” “Pattern Requests” is where folks like you usually post when they need help making a specific and often more personal pattern as you did. Not everyone looks in all the different subforums so I just wanted to make sure your request was potentially seen by the most people who might be able to help you with your request. unfortunately I am not a pattern maker and cannot help. I’m sorry for your sister’s loss. Edited February 16, 2024 by meflick Typo Quote

Stretch Posted February 17, 2024 Author Report Posted February 17, 2024 Thanks so much, Paul! It is fantastic! I am sure she will love it. When it's done I will post a pic for you. I plan to pay it forward if I develop that skill/talent! Until then I try to sprinkle sunshine with my scrolling Brian danny 1 Quote
