The next PAM project

One of the FaceBook pages I belong to runs a monthly project (PAM).  This month's project is a Funky Owl.  I got my piece of Purple Heart, that my niece grabbed for me, on Monday.  I think she will get the finished project as a 30th birthday gift at the end of the month.  I think this project was meant to happen this way.  

Now, here is the stack of woods & then the pieces all cut out. 27 pieces.  Cut with MG#5

Woods used:  Purple Heart, Yellow Heart, Zebrawood, Butternut, Canarywood, Orange Osage, White Limba, Cherry, Reclaimed Elm, Aromatic Cedar & Wenge.

That is looking good I have got to get caught up with my unfinished projects so I can try some intarsia.

I was surprised at how quickly the sanding went.  Thank goodness for strong winds - didn't want to venture outside!  Gusts upwards of 100km/hr predicted.   That meant I got the morning, uninterrupted,  on the sanding devices.  I am liking the fits.   Next up -finish!!!! Picture is after the rough sanding.  I sanded to 220.
