WolfmoonCT Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 (edited) Wondering if someone could help me with this. My girlfriend raises and shows australian shepherds.. She drew this pic to use as a pattern.. What I want to do is cut it from 1/4 or 1/8" birch ply to fit inside an 8x10" picture frame. The problem is the outline of the dog really. it's a solid line and would cut the whole head out of the wood. So I'm hoping someone could size this to be like a portrait to fit the frame, clean up the inside lines, and change the outside lines.. I was thinking that making the outside line kind of look like the pointy inside lines on the neck area of the dog. Anyone up to the task? I know she'd LOVE to get this as a present someday, since she's pretty much forgotten about having drawn it.. Thanks. Edited October 22, 2012 by WolfmoonCT Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 This would make a good intarsia or Segmentation pattern I believe. It will be interesting to see what becomes of it. DW Quote
DonR Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Not sure exactly what you need but I took a stab at it. If you had something else in mind let me know and I will see what I come up with. DW is right. I think it would make a nice intarsia piece. Don R Quote
Trip Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 This is how I would do it,no frame just the shepherds head. Quote
WolfmoonCT Posted October 23, 2012 Author Report Posted October 23, 2012 I like both versions.. We had always talked about framing it though. I may cut both Trip, just for fun. But Don, I can only see a couple changes. Tried sending you a PM, but the site said you cannot receive any new msgs.. not sure why.. Quote
DonR Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 I don't know why your copy was so untidy after I posted it. Here are a couple more. Don R Quote
WolfmoonCT Posted October 23, 2012 Author Report Posted October 23, 2012 (edited) Awesome Don.. Thanks so much. I like the last one you posted the best. I think the lines on the back of the neck being thinner like that flow with the rest. I'll make sure to post a pic once it's done. The lines were messed up, because I was trying to make the back lines thinner to give you an idea of what was in my head.. I'm not good at doing any photo editing.
