The Gnomes

A friend wanted some gnomes for a birthday present.

I sent her a photo of 6 and asked her which ones.

She said all six.

I think I'm done with gnomes for awhile.

Nicely done Joe.  I've never made a gnome.  Just don't see the fascination with these little guys, but this year I'm going to give it try.  Might get hooked on it,

I am not a huge fan of them.  I have tried selling them, but they are not big sellers. Or at least the ones I have made!

We love them here at casa Irving.  We have several including the Valentine's couple with the big red heart backer.  

I could suggest a few more, including an intarsia gnome, if you decide you want to do more.

Painting the wood is a big NO-NO in intarsia.  If you do that, it is called segmentation.  There are other differences between the two.

I was referring to painting gnomes like Joe's. NOT intarsia. I have no desire to ever get into all that sanding.

At least they were not 6 of the same.  Gnomes bring a smile to your face.  They all look great, well done.

Nice. I have made some and took me a few years to sell them.

I then scaled them down to ornament size and those do sell fairly well.
