Wichman Posted July 23, 2025 Report Posted July 23, 2025 You could try a face shield with a respirator combo. They are available on Amazon for about $20. One set of straps. I don't use them because I wear glasses, safety glasses lens and frames, at all times. My vision is so poor that I can't see anything unless I'm wearing my glasses, so years ago I switched to safeties so I have no choice but to wear my safety glasses. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
JTTHECLOCKMAN Posted July 23, 2025 Report Posted July 23, 2025 All the years I scrolled well over 30 years, the mask I used was the 3M N95 masks. Changed them often but lungs are clear and boy have I had alot of chest XRAYS over the years. I wear them any time I am in the shop making dust. Now when I turn I wear something similar to what you have with a face shield. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Randyw81 Posted July 23, 2025 Report Posted July 23, 2025 As far as the filters, they are fine for what you are doing. We use them in the automotive industry for body shop sanding dust. They are more efficient than N95 masks for dust and particulates. I am not sure of an option to help with the interference issues with the headband and straps. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
OCtoolguy Posted July 23, 2025 Report Posted July 23, 2025 That's the exact mask I've been using for almost 10 years. I've never changed the filters. Not sure when or how to know if they need changing. I can still breathe through them just fine. I also have an overhead air cleaner right above my saws. Quote
