Popular Post heppnerguy Posted February 7 Popular Post Report Posted February 7 My granddaughter has a neighbor who helper her out a lot when she is traveling, which she does quite often and he has a bloodhound so she ask me to make one for her to give as a thank you. This was to only pattern I could find so I made it and sent it to her. I had a small amount of damage on it but she was able to repair it and she told me that he 'loved it'. So glad I could help her with this. Dick heppnerguy Fab4, barb.j.enders, preprius and 15 others 18 Quote

As you probably know, I am not a domestic animal person, although my wife is and we have had one kind of an animal or another ever since we have been married so I guess I have learned to tolerate them by now. Now that you have become such an all around wood artist it is nice to have a comment like that from you as you understand the fun and the trouble of some wood working projects. This one went quite well for me from start to finish Dick heppnerguy Quote

For the eye, you could add a pinpoint of white to show a reflection of light. heppnerguy 1 Quote

It just did not seem to work for me at that time. I am trying to figure out how to add color to my scroll work so I took a piece I had cut awhile back and made my first effort adt trying to understand just how to accomplish my goal. I am not a very artist guy so I though I did fairly well with my first effort but I also understand I have a lot to learn and they say practice makes perfect. Although I can not see myself as ever managing to reach 'perfect', I do wish to learn what will be acceptable to me. I am posting my efforts of my first efforts at adding color and it is a long long way from where I want to be, but it is only my first efforts so time should either see me reach my goal or to accept that I just do not have the talent for adding color to my scroll work. Dick heppnerguy I would disagree with the statement that you are not a very artistic guy. You prove yourself in every piece you do. I hope I haven't discouraged you with my critique. Eyes are very difficult to achieve and is something I struggle with. Maybe that is why I don't do many animals. heppnerguy 1 Quote

I find it all helpful. Like I said, I tried to do the eyes but did not like the results.
