Aggie Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 What kind of wood do you use for cutting out your puzzles. Quote
dgman Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 If you are talking about standup puzzles, I always use 3/4” hardwoods such as Cherry and Poplar. If you are talking about jigsaw puzzles, I use 1/4” Baltic Burch plywood. JTTHECLOCKMAN, Dan, Aggie and 1 other 3 1 Quote
Aggie Posted February 8 Author Report Posted February 8 Thanks and I wanted to know about both kinds of puzzles Quote
Dan Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 Dan agrees with Dan, poplar is my go-to for standup puzzles and baltic birch ply for jigsaw puzzles. barb.j.enders, Aggie and dgman 2 1 Quote
Denny Knappen Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 I only do standup puzzles and mostly use Poplar although I ordered some 3/4" Hardwoods for puzzles. Aggie 1 Quote
kmmcrafts Posted February 10 Report Posted February 10 I always made the puzzles mostly from 3/4 Poplar but have made them out of many types of hardwoods too. IF you really want a challenging cut try one from 7/8" Hickory.. Don't ask how I figured that one out, and of coarse I used one of the bigger patterns on this one too, I think it was the cabover semi or the bigrig semi pattern.. Aggie 1 Quote
