Travis Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 You can find the book a bit cheaper on Amazon, plus it has a book preview which should give you an idea of the project and the other projects. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1561583995/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=1561583995&linkCode=as2&tag=rayzcach-20 That turned out amazing! I love it! Is it going to set on the shelf? Or did you make it to be played with? I'm not sure if I could resist running it across the carpet. What lucky kids. Honestly, is there anything better than a handmade toy? Quote
campasano Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 Thank you both for the response, I think I will order the used book from Amazon.com Mike Quote

amazingkevin Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 These are the cream of the crop in the sand box, nothing can come close to the quality and as i see it tough and ready to rumble toys. The kidds will but them thru all the downsized moves the real ones do and they can take a beating too.Yoiu just can't hold back a smile when you eyeball these gems.who would'nt want one.!terrific polished job you've done on these earth movers. The kids faces are going to hurt from the giant sized smile these will put on their faces. campasano Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 I received a great disappointment today, my book was sent to the wrong address and the seller had no choice but to cancel my order and refund me my money, hopefully I can find a replacement. I guess at times you have to take things with a smile Mike Quote

Robert Phillips Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 I too am planning on ordering the book. How did you make the wheels? Quote
gator Posted March 18, 2013 Author Report Posted March 18, 2013 they show you how in the book. 2 ways bandsaw or tablesaw. i used tablesaw cut on 15degree angle 1/2 of the wheels then turn around jig and do a mirror set of wheels and glue together. Quote
Robert Phillips Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 I bought the book today it should be here tomorrow. I think you should be getting commission on all the sales now lol. Quote
gator Posted March 19, 2013 Author Report Posted March 19, 2013 i wish i could design and sell books and patterns that's were the money is. i want to see pictures. also the truck pattern does not have a strip of walnut down the middle like mine. i just glued the cab up so mine did. Quote
campasano Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Well I finally received my book yesterday straight from England, I was amazed at the quick ship time. Now to find the time to make some of the great trucks featured in the book is another story. Looking forward to making a few. Mike Quote
gator Posted March 24, 2013 Author Report Posted March 24, 2013 well my 6 year old grand son got his truck. was ramming them together hauling one with the other. he love it. success!!!!!!! Quote
campasano Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Gator, he will treasure it forever as his Granddad made it especially for him. Isin't it great to see their eyes full of joy when you present them with a toy you make for them. I experienced that joy with my grandchildren and now with my 2 Great Grandsons. Thanks for starting this great thread. Mike Quote
