That is super cool.  How did you finish the ash end of the 'cigar'?  Is it natural color?  Did you do any additional carving?

I left the ash natural, no finish. I used my dremel to cut small grooves and put small holes in it. Then used my wood burner to put burn marks on and around it.

did you drill all the way through the ask Clayton?  I know PSI now has an expandable chuck that fits inside the brass and you tighten a screw to expand it to hold the wood from the inside...  could be good if you want to keep the end of the ash solid.. hard to tell if it is in your pic..

No I did not drill all the way through, either end.
