wombatie Posted July 14, 2013 Report Posted July 14, 2013 I live in a small town called Hastings and on Friday night the local jewelers was robbed, the wife was injured and the husband while defending his wife was stabbed and killed. They have owned the Jewel Shed for over 30 years and I don't think there is a woman in Hastings that has not been in there at least once. He was the nicest man you would ever wish to meet and his wife is lovely too. Now I know this goes on all around the world but it has never happened in our town before and we are all devastated. Please put them in your prayers because their family need them right now. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Marg Nick@tinkers-cove and bobscroll 2 Quote

wombatie Posted July 23, 2013 Author Report Posted July 23, 2013 Well Hastings did Dermott proud today. Over 400 at his funeral and then the main street was lined with hundreds more to applaud his coffin as it went along. And all of the shops were decorated in green to celebrate Dermott's Irish background. He would have been proud and embarrassed all at the same time and probably would have asked if the Queen was coming for a visit with all the people out in force. Marg Nick@tinkers-cove 1 Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 Marg. I'm glad things went smooth and well and so many people turn up to show there respect. There are no words to console the family of course our prayers are with the people left behind to pick up the pieces as they say. God Bless. Roly wombatie 1 Quote
