LarryEA Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 The wood is Mahogany and Hard Maple (a little Spalted) A brass hinge in the center for a pivot There are 397 holes The bottom board is 15 1/2" x 5 1/2" Use the deck of cards for additional reference. The pattern is from Canadianhomeworkshop.com I'm wearing black pants and a gray sweat shirt and am eating chili and crackers. I still have to cut the recess for the cribbage pegs, add magnets, final sanding and finish. The magnets are for holding the two boards in line while playing or in storage. I am making a total of four, all are in various stages. Hence, I have a total of 1588 holes to drill. Larry Stogies and Travis 2 Quote

jrpeteo Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 It is a fun game, and I've thought about making one. I didn't think I would be able to line up the holes perfectly and make it look good. Yours looks very good. Do you have a solid template or just a paper pattern for the holes? Pete LarryEA 1 Quote

Pete Pete, paper pattern and a drill press. Just thought that maybe on the next one I could attach a 1/4 inch hard board while I drill and maybe make a template. Quote
Ron Johnson Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Good morning Larry Fantastic work you've done. Very time consuming drilling all those holes. It's going to look awesome once you apply the finish. I've always enjoyed cribbage. LarryEA 1 Quote

Wilson's Woodworking Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 I'm wearing black pants and a gray sweat shirt and am eating chili and crackers. Larry No description is complete without this kind of info. I love the board. It is the first 3 person board I have seen that isn't in the shape of a 21. I have spent many hours playing and enjoyed every second. Thanks for sharing. LarryEA 1 Quote

Fay Prozora Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 I have a cribbage board template in the shop. It was Ward's and I think he made one for my sister's husband at one time. I'm going to try to learn more about cribbage and see if I would like to play it. Then maybe I will make a board or two. Have a great day Fay Quote
patrol681 Posted March 15, 2014 Report Posted March 15, 2014 I have never been a card playing fan personally, (nothing against it by any means,) just not interested, - however, - my wife wanted a unique cribbage board for a birthday gift one year, and I bought one from this fellow (I wasn't into woodworking at that time so didn't try making one myself) Anyway, those of you who do play Cribbage may be interested in trying some of these sort of ideas: http://www.cribscapes.com/ Ed Quote
