Has anybody ever bought woodcrafting patterns from Winfield Collection or Sherwood Creations?  Specifically, the ones that are not scroll saw/intarsia patterns?  If so, what did you think of the project?  What did you find appealing about it?  Would you buy again?  I'm just curious.  Most of them are painted projects or projects for the yard.  They have a few woodwoodworking/furniture plans too.

I bought the Bear Ridge Bench pattern about 10 years ago and it was pretty easy to follow. I just got into scolling then and just liked that plan. Yes, I would buy from them again.

I bought Joy to do for a daughter and sister in law and a reclining skeleton for a grandson's Halloween display.  Patterns are good and I think what you would expect.  Sometimes the patterns lap into two sheets of paper and you have to tape together.  Generally they work best, at least for me, to have a graphite type of paper on your wood to trace the pattern onto the wood in order to preserve your pattern.  I think I got the large graphite paper at Hobby Lobby or some other arts and crafts store.  I really do prefer my scroll saw to cutting 3/4 ply with a jig saw with interior cuts and inside and outside curves.  If they had a pattern I wanted, I would not hesitate to buy again.

For those who have bought those type of patterns, what do/did you think of their prices?  Does it bother you that they're not instant downloads, or do you like receiving paper versions of the pattern in the mail?

Good day Travis

I receive their catalogue periodically. They do have some interesting patterns and projects depending on your interest. I've never ordered directly but have purchased their toy patterns locally from a retail outlet. I thought the patterns were well done and easy to understand. I prefer the paper patterns through the mail or direct from a retail outlet over downloads.

I got a catalog in the mail and ordered online. I like the original pattern because it's full-size, but I had to scan it and tape together so I didn't destroy the original. I can see how a digital copy would eliminate the step to scan. Besides, digital patterns are much easier to resize.

I bought a couple of patterns from them about a week ago or so. One is a 3D star pattern for inside or outside display. Sis liked it and I think it is a table saw pattern but I'm going to see if I can cut it on the scroll saw. I also got the wagging tail leash hanger so Sis can hang her dog's leashes on it so they will be right there by the door. She has 2 dogs. I can cut that on a scroll saw.   Haven't received the patterns as yet so we'll see how the instructions will be once I get them... Have a great night   Fay
