  1. Nicely done! That's on my cutlist too. I think it'll be a gift for my sister for Christmas. Yours turned out wonderful. Love the walnut stain too.
  2. Those turned out great! I always find lettering to be difficult. Nicely done. I also really like the cheetah.
  3. According to Wikipedia, Paint Thinner is a generic term. It commonly refers to mineral spirits, but there are other paint thinners too (including turpentine and acetone). Mineral spirits is derived from petroleum and is a mild solvent for oils. So it is used to thin oil paints or remove oils/grease.
  4. Those will make awesome projects. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Thanks for the recommendation. I like hearing experiences with various online vendors.
  5. Great list so far. I really like the D&DPlywoods. Very cool resource. Anybody else want to share some of their suppliers? I'm looking mostly for internet/mailorder companies.

  7. Wow. That turned out awesome! You did a great job on it! I love Sue's Pirate series. They look like a lot of fun and on my cut list too. But some pirate stole me spare time....arrrr. But soon enough, laddy. Soon enough!
  8. Congratulations on the new saw! I hear a lot of folks find some killer deals on Craigslist. I'll have to keep my eye on it more. Sounds like you got a great saw, and your son will have his own to feed the addiction. I can't wait to see your first project from your new saw!
  9. Hi Chief. Welcome to the Village. I'm glad you found us. It's pretty rough being away from your shop for so long. But it sounds like when you return, you'll have a shiny new saw waiting for you. Until then, you can live vicariously through SSV members. There's a lot of talent here. Its fun to see what everybody comes up with. Anyway, welcome aboard. Jump on in and have some fun!
  10. Your album is awesome. I really enjoyed looking through it. I especially like the train portraits. Nicely done on all of them. I can't wait to see your next installment.
  11. That could be one of the coolest guestbook ideas I've seen. Very clever! It would be so much fun to take that puzzle, put it together years down the road, and look at the well-wishes that your wedding guests left you. Very neat.
  12. Wow. Those turned out beautiful. I'm not sure I can pick out my favorite. I always underestimate the beauty of pine. I've tried cutting it a few times, but had lousy results. Maybe I'm buying the wrong kind of pine. I just buy your typical 1x6 you get at the bigbox store. But whenever I cut it, I get a lot of tear-out on the edges. Almost like it's still green or something. Your projects turned out awesome. The clear finish really shows off the wood too. Nicely done!
  13. I think this is my favorite. Blue ribbon is certainly deserved. Nicely done!
  14. You're gunna have to make a ribbon holder! Good job! Love the backer too.
  15. That turned out really nice. I like how you added color to it. Really makes it stand out. Nicely done!
  16. Another great cutting. I really liked those sled ornaments. Yours turned out great. Nicely done!
  17. That turned out really cool. Love the double owl pattern too. Good job on the ribbon. Well deserved!
  18. I think a John Wayne portrait is a right of passage for every scroller. You did a great job on it. Thanks for sharing!
  19. That turned out sharp. Nicely done! You're on quite a roll!

Those turned out great. I really like that basket. You did a really nice job on those. Good job!
  22. Boy, that turned out sharp! Great job. Love the wood choice too. The grain really gives it a lot of energy. Nicely done!
  23. What a great cutting. Such a cute dog too. Really captured his expression. Nicely done.
  24. Those turned out great. I must admit, I'm still a felt guy. But now I see the spray painted ones, perhaps I'll give it a go. It would be really cool with a gradient too. Or use a sheet of paper to make a star burst behind it. Lots of possibilities with sprayed backers. Thanks for showing us! Now you got my wheels turning...
  25. That turned out great. I've been wanting to cut that too. The pattern is still available for those interested. You can find it here. I really like Jeff's designs. I have my eye on one of his waterwheel patterns. Maybe I'll give it a go this winter.
