  1. That's a really cool box, Tom! You did a great job on it. You should put a copy in your User Gallery (you can [tut]find a tutorial on how to set one up here[/tut]). That's certainly something to be proud of! Nicely done!
  2. Boy, that turned out really cool. Nicely done. Love the wood choices too.
  3. Great News, Mike! I love to see scrolling groups come together. Be sure to add your club info to the wiki. If you're not comfortable with editing the wiki, you can post your info here and I'll update the page for you. Add as much (or little, but more is better) information as you want.
  4. Scroll Saw Village cannot be what it is today without an amazing team working hard behind the scenes. You'd be amazed about how much goes into creating a wonderful community of open sharing of ideas, techniques and patterns. There are a lot of avenues in which Scroll Saw Village serves the scrolling community, not just the forums as we continue to develop new areas and resources for our scrolling friends. I set up a simple page that lists our staff members and their roles. You can find the link to the Staff list at the bottom of every page on this website. Thanks to all of them for their continued hard work. And thanks to the rest of you who make our work worthwhile.
  5. Hi John. Welcome to the Village. I'm glad you found us. Sounds like you're having a great time with your free time and Ol' Yella. My Dad just retired last week and he has a bunch of scroll saw plans and fishing lined up too. I would make an awesome retiree...I have so many interests, I would have no trouble filling the time. I guess it'll be awhile, though. We'd love to see some of your work. You can set up a User Gallery (you can find a [tut]tutorial here[/tut]) and show off a little. Anyway, we're glad to have you on board. Jump in and have some fun!
  6. Great design, joscrolls! Put a sawtooth hanger on it or some jute twine to hang it on a door. Look awesome painted too. Nicely done!
  7. Dale (aka Firedkm) was gracious enough to help us with our Facebook page. He'll be the admin for our home on Facebook. Right now, our Facebook page is pretty bare bones. But he'll be spiffing up the place a bit with new apps and regular updates for our friends at Facebook. If you are a Facebook member, I encourage you to become a "Fan" of the page. You can find us at: http://artist.to/scrollsawvillage/ Thanks Dale!
  8. There are several generic terms used to describe saught after "defects" in wood. But all I could think of is spalted, burl, and curly. Can you think of any other quality that may apply to multiple species of wood?
  9. Glad to have you back operational. Technology is great, when it works. Hopefully it will give you a lot less problems now.
  10. Wow. You did an amazing job on those! I really like the laughing baby. You really captured his glee! Nicely done!
  11. That would be awesome, Dale. I figure if we post a update at least once a week, that would work really well. Maybe if there's any applications or boxes that would improve the page, that would be cool too. Become a fan of the page, and PM me your name so I can make you an admin. Thanks Dale! 12. Unless I'm missing some inside joke (which I often do), I don't think its in bad taste at all. Great pattern, Grampa! Thank you for sharing!

  14. Hi Grampa. Welcome to the Village. I'm glad you found us. Portraits is one of my favorites too. I really get a kick out of it. We'd love to see some of your work. 15. I assume you want to build a new website? What do you plan on doing with the website (static website, blog, ecommerce)?
  16. Anybody a Facebook experts out there? Just knowing your way around Facebook is good enough for me. I'd like to find someone willing to help out with the Facebook page by keeping it up to date with site news, organize boxes, organize widgets, etc. You'll get admin privileges to the Facebook Page. I'm hoping to find someone to really take it to the next level and make it a neat portal page for our Facebook friends.
  17. I gotta ask what the heck you do for a living!?
