  1. This has a section on laser transfer. I had so-so results. But I know others who had good success.
  2. For those interested, I have two tutorials in the Articles section of the website. The first is preparing a pattern for printing, which includes resizing. The second is printing oversized patterns.
  3. That is a VERY good website. It's clear you put a ton of time into it. Lots of great info and laid out well. Nicely done!
  4. It's almost Valentine's Day! Just a reminder that this kit goes off sale on Feb 14th. So if you're interested in this business kit, get it while it's still a screamin' good deal at only $10! After Feb 15th, it's going to the regular price of $20.
  5. I created a slideshow of the Favorite Projects Scroll Saw Challenge. It's kinda fun to see. I wouldn't mind doing this for the new scroll saw challenges. It's a lot of work, though. Anyway, feel free to share it on your social media. It's fun to show to friends and family. Enjoy!
  6. When I was a kid, one of my favorite things was making our Valentine's boxes in school so our classmates could put in Valentine's cards. It was so much fun to go through and see what cards your classmates got you. So for me, Valentine's Day isn't only about romantic love. It's also about showing the people in your life how much you appreciate them. A time to check in with friends, both old and new. Connect with family just to say you're thinking of them. A little special something for the kids or grandkids to say "I love you." Post a project you made for your sweetheart, a good friend, or someone in your family to show how much you care. It's open to interpretation, so get creative. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
  7. OK...cool. Hopefully what I did was the solution. Let me know if anything goes wonky again.
  8. OK....I tried another thing. Did it ruin your columns again? Or is it OK? (trying to narrow down the issue)
  9. huh....interesting. I think it was the Valentine's Day ornament kit I put into the sidebar that was stretching things. It doesn't do it for everybody, though. Very strange.
  10. OK...try it now. Are you still getting strange column sizes when looking at the forums? If so, can you give me a screenshot?
  11. Hmmm....I'm not getting that when I'm using my iPad, either. Two questions for you: When you read SSV on your iPad, are you holding it sideways (landscape), or normal (portrait, like you're looking at a piece of paper) When you go into a thread, like this one, is it still doing it?
  12. hmmm.....I'm not getting that. Can you scroll down and see what's in the bottom of the right column and take a screenshot for me? I'm wondering if something int that column is stretching the sidebar.
  13. I don't know if you use PhotoShop or not, but in PS, you can create a script that will run through an entire folder and do the same action. For Photoshop, I think it's Image>Canvas Size.....then it will basically fill in the negative space with white.
  14. ha! That's a good idea. Sometimes I overcomplicate things.
  15. I agree. Give Don's trick a try. With your pointer tool, draw a box around the whole ornament to select it. Once selected, do Ctrl+D for duplicate. Without clicking anywhere or doing anything, immediately do Ctrl+G for group. This will bind everything together so it moves as a group. Then move your ornament to the page. Now, in order to edit it, you need to ungroup it. Then do Ctrl+Shift+G to ungroup it. Then you can edit your ornament. If worse comes to worse, you can move over individual pieces and reline them back up. There are only 3 pieces, so you can line it up by eye. Just make sure each piece is overlapping each other just a little bit before you do Path>Union. Honestly, you don't even have to do Path>Union if you don't want to. Just be sure not to cut the lines where the pattern parts line up. Path>Union just gets rid of those lines so it's easier to follow. But if you know before hand which lines not to cut, you should be fine. Let me know if you're still having trouble. If so, I can put together a quick video showing what I mean.
  16. OK...I got the demo video posted. You can check it out here if you want to see it in action:
  17. Note: This kit works exactly the same way as our previous Ornament Kits. I'll be making a demonstration video later today to show how it works, though. This kit does require some working knowledge of Inkscape, just as with the other kits. You don't need to be a pro, but you should have the basics down.

Once you customize your pattern, select the whole pattern with a marquee box, then go to Path>Union. That should weld everything together. You can check this video demo starting at around 2:22. This demonstrates copying your pattern and unioning everything together.
  21. OK....I think everything has been updated now, including the new theme. Let me know if you see anything strange.
  22. Another update. I think I need to update the website themes too, which I'll mess with over the next day or two.
  23. I love this so much! There's a lot of meaning to you and I can see why it is important to you and your family. Congratulations on your continued journey.
  24. Christmas is over and we start a new year. Whenever January rolls around, I often reflect on the previous year. I like to think of the special memories, accomplishments, and time I spend with my hobbies. So this month's challenge, think back to what you created this year and post your favorite scroll saw project. Let us know a little bit about it. Why was it your favorite? Was it a gift for someone? What was it for? I always enjoy the stories behind the project. Can't wait to see your favorite project!
  25. My guess is that it’s opening in a web browser and you’re only seeing the logo. Make sure you have Inkscape installed on your computer. You can find a free download at Inkscape.org. Once installed, launch Inkscape. Then go to File>Open and browse to your Inkscape file. There’s a video tutorial on the product page that will walk you through the customizing process. Let me know if you run into troubles. Enjoy the kit!
