Kevin,
I have some ( a lot ) of 3/4" poplar with some beautiful grain patterns and coloring that I bought to re-frame a door. I started looking at it and decided to go buy a nice piece of pine instead.
Here is what I accomplished today.
There was also the UK basket ball pic that my grandson painted and took with him, ( I think ) if it's still here I will get a pic of it.
I had this idea for a box last night - Couldn't sleep - Got on computer - Designed and Glue up around 1:00am - Got up, had coffee, - Cut - Sanded - Finished.
Kinda Proud of this one.
Some of the pics are JUST after spraying. I also got the glue out of the lid design.
Thanks All for the Wonderful comments.
I looked at the lettering and almost threw it away, i have seen and done better in the past.
I also want to thank everyone for contributing their time and effort on the patterns while i was trying (and eventually used) to make my own.
I was able to find some frames at Wal-Mart - The company that made them is CANOPY. These have worked real well with my portraits (and I didn't have to remove the glass)
just looked again at the pics........
The lettering looks HORRIBLE! My only excuse is they were really small and solid black to where i couldn't see well.
Portrait is complete.
The first few are from the back side as I was working on them. The last two are raw front and finished front. I didn't see the piece in her left eye until after photo.
Here is the photo I used
I originally went to Michael's for the bigger package of fish hooks, But thought wiser and found some hypo-allergenic ones.Next trip is for more supplies, clip on, spinner, assort. headpins etc.....lol
Here is the rest of my afternoons work, lost - one cross, one dolphins, and one man in the moon to the sander.
they are either 1/16", 1/8", 1/4" Oak scraps or plywood. Mostly Oak scraps though.
