  1. Oh not really, that's tricky to assemble. One could use instant glue or white glue but it depends on how the basket is going to be used... May be beheaded nails and a drop of white glue but that is much difficult I suppose... Thanks
  2. All are excellent cuttings Mike. What glue did use for the baskets?
  3. Thanks Doug, Mike! I know colours are (as always) debatable though. I've never been good with tones, and tastes of people in my entourage never seem to concord. Cheers.
  4. Nice and clean work!

  6. Hello, Thanks you so much all for your support! It certainly helped me hang on to the project Here's the full story... Border ornament elements 4 layer stack cutting Glueing Arch Calligraphy and some important Town's Architectural elements Ben Badis' face Trying a solution for the viaduct's stays, while coating is drying Second coating (Added blue) Calligraphy detail Ready for gilding Gilding diacritics and dots More gilding Almost there There There again! I'll take a day off and start something new. This is Scroll sawing isn't it? Best wishes to all and good luck!
  7. Hi, It's been a busy day Marg! All ornaments are cut and placed on. All the calligraphy which is the name of the Town (Constantine) and a poetic verse (in a half circle shape) are too. Cutting out and glueing the dots and diacritic symbols was a tweezers work At the bottom are from left to right : The ancient Roman aqueduct (local ruin), the Islamic Sciences University, and the tramway viaduct. Constantine is split in two by the Rhumel river ( runs through a canyon), which make it a bridge (and vertigo!) city. See this A couple of days to go... Cheers!
  8. Thanks for the trust DW! BTW this is not wood but hardboard (No blaming...I definitely can't find woods with the ideal physical properties). I intend to have it painted in two tone with high contrast.
  9. Thanks guys! Can't wait either.
  10. Hi, Just wanted to share that I am working on the biggest project so far, in both size (44" x54") and complexity. Every 16th of April is a day of celebration in Constantine. Many events in ton are held around a local historic personality (Ibn Badis). I am working in participating in a contest held for the occasion. The work will have geometric and floral ornaments, human face depiction, Arabic calligraphy, and some of the town's architectural elements outlined. Work is in progress as you can see... Cheers

This is neat! Thanks for sharing the idea Ron. fEZ ;•=)
  25. Thanks Sue! I use any material really. Used Masonite for this one. Cut first like any ordinary scrollsaw work. Use a second piece of Masonite as a backer. Stick the two. let fix. Prepare a paste with white acrylic paint and marble sand. Apply with a hard brush all over, to get the rough texture. Sand paper. (Slightly). Varnish. Et voilà ! fEZ ;•=)
