  12. Hmmm... check to see if the BLO came from China. If it has not then it probably is real BLO. I have not used BLO on my bowls however it is one of the finishes that I have the choice to use. BLO is one of the "hardening" oils that is, as a finish it does not sit on the surface of the wood rather it soaks into the grain and then begins to harden filling up the pores of the wood. BLO is people safe, easy to use, easy to store and does not generally carry any serious fumes. DW

  15. Tony these bowls are pretty easy to do. It takes just a little attention to detail ( the small things get you on one of these ) There is a book that was published a couple of years back by Fox Chapel Publishing called Wooden Bowls From the Scroll Saw by Carole Rothman. Here is a link to it on Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Wooden-Bowls-Scroll-Easy---Make/dp/1565234332/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1440036080&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=wooded+bowls+from+the+scroll+saw The book discusses and has projects to make bowls with the scroll saw that frankly are amazing. I have had folks swear that I used a lathe when I do not even own one. Essentially you cut a ring at an angle then a smaller ring at the same angle and then glue them together, sand and shape and finish... and you get one like I just made. The possibilities for making this type of bowl are endless and can be a lot of fun to design and make. DW
  16. This bowl is 7 1/2 inches long x 6 inches wide x 3 inches tall. It was cut from 3/4 sapelle I cut 1/4 inch wide strips of 3/4 holly for this bowl as well. The bowl was cut using a 26.9 deg. left side down table tilt. Cut with a #9 ultra reverse. Finished with shellac. DW
  17. Well done. Perhaps using balsa or one of the other light woods would help with the weight. Thanks for sharing this one with us. DW
  18. I would be leary of that good of a deal unless it was from someone you knew and trusted. DW

  20. NIce Kevin. Looks like you are keeping busy as usual. Keep up the great work my friend. DW
  21. The font is called Andale® Sans and it costs to use it. There is a font that is very close to it that is free, Ancona-BoldItalic. It is close... not exact mind you but close. The R would need to be edited a bit but very close to what they used otherwise. http://www.truetype-center.com/truetype-font-detail/A-Ancona-BoldItalic.ttf-Ancona-BoldItalic DW I have a CD with 10k fonts on it
