  8. Kevin, The accepted religious beliefs of most modern religions is tolerance and acceptance of another's beliefs. Who is qualified to say that what they believe is not just another aspect of the Lord that you believe in. Just because someone says that it is a graven image does not meant that it is. For instance the Ankh symbol is an Ancient Egyptian hieroglyph which represents the hieroglyph ´nh (ankh) meaning "life" or "breath of life". The glyph appears in an incredible number of inscriptions and was often used as a decorative device. So how is that a graven image? Attacking something that is not understood is common in religion(s) around the world. Not doing anything wrong as far as I know and understand. DW

  18. Jerry, There generally is 2 or 3 things that can cause tear out like you are discussing. One you have an aggressive blade installed, or Two your ply that you are using is not solid or Three the piece is vibrating from the cutting. Personally I would use a zero clearance insert and insure that I had a good sharp blade that for wood that small should not be over a #3 ultra reverse ( flying dutchman ) or a 2/0 spiral if that is what you choose. The zero clearance insert will give your work the needed support to keep it from flexing and breaking from cutting. Hope this helps. DW
  19. Marg, Elmo came out great. I agree that he looks much better with some color. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW
  20. Kevin here is a cheap easy idea for a table. Get 2 fiber drums or two saw horses ( the plastic ones at harbor freight are only $13 ) and then all you need is an old inside door. Put the door on the supports and whala you have yourself an inexpensive table that is wider and longer than most workbenches. I use this for my shows. Gives me a ton of display / work area. DW

  25. How much do you sand.. the vase is easy.... until you are satisfied that it is smooth enough. The bandsaw box s much harder. The kerf tends to be rougher and bigger so if you get too aggressive you can get gaping clearances, not enough and you have blade marks. For me anyway my goal would be to get the blade marks out while keeping the gap around the drawers even. The inside of the drawers are easier as they do not show as much however if you do most of your sanding of the drawers inside before you put the front and back on it will be MUCH easier. Practice will help a lot. DW
