  1. I know this was not done by scroll saw. It was however done completely without the use of a table saw as I do not own one. I used a 9" bandsaw, hand plane, a thicknesser and router. This cutting board was a commission piece for a lady. She wanted an 18 x 24 inch cutting board, so that is what I made her. The woods used are Maple and Sapel. I sanded it to 400 grit and then treated it to 4 coats of mineral oil ( butcher block oil ) and then a bees wax and butcher block oil mix for the final coating. The board ended up just a 32nd under 1 inch thick.

  17. No pattern was used kinda made it as I went along. I had the dimensions for the business cards that my customers son was using and eyeballed the angles to get the cards to lay right in the holder. Essentially the card holder is very simple to build it has two sides that I stack cut and a short front piece and bottom piece and of course the slanted back piece. I put the back piece in place with enough room so that if he wanted to he could put an inch or so of business cards out with no problem. Glue the sides, front and bottom on then position the back and glue that in place. That really is all there is to it short of sanding of course DW

  25. Roly No I cut this one from a section of 2 x 10 ( 5.08cm x 25.40cm ). Essentially what I did was cut two rectangles with a wall thickness of about 5/16 in or 0.79375cm. So what I ended up with was a pair of rectangles one 4in x 6in and the other one smaller by the thickness of the wall and the kerf. Then all I needed to do was glue a top on to the bigger rectangle and a bottom on the other and I had a box. This is in my opinion one of the simplest boxes to make but allows for a lot of creativity when making the box. I cut it totally on my scroll saw. DW
