  1. Bendita this is generally called segmentation. It is like intarsia only instead of using a wood chosen for its natural color and grain you stain it to the color(s) that you need and it tends to be cut from the same piece of lumber. You have done a great job on this eagle. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW

  6. Both are great. Question is this.... Is the family you are wanting to give this to more into the outdoors or more the in the city type. Both are great and would be welcomed I would bet however if they are more the outdoorsy type then the first one might be more appropriate for them. Just my opinion of course Thanks for sharing these with us. Keep up the great work. DW

  13. Excellent job Roly. The thing about these patterns is that they are just guides and as such you can make up different blanks and try out different ideas some will work some will not but all are learning experiences. Thanks for sharing your work. May your new year be full of prosperity and learning. DW
  14. Very nicely done Dennis. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW
  15. Kevin it looked a bit like the British Flag ( Union Jack ) with a dot in the center. DW

  17. Larry you can get this pattern from this Romanian website. http://www.traforaj.ro/Pentru%20Download/Cosulet1.pdf DW
  18. Roly these baskets are cut with no angle at all. All the basket is is a series of concentric rings that are glued together. If you took it apart you would have a disk 8in in diameter with a bunch of cut rings that range from 8in to approx. 4 1/2 in. in diameter. They are fun to make and people often wonder how it was made or if it was one of those collapsing ones. DW
  19. Cut from Pine, Red Cedar and Poplar. This basket is 8in. in diameter. Finished with several coats of clear shellac. The disk in the center is a slice of a 1 ½ in. poplar dowel. DW
