  1. Looks like you got him hooked. Keep teaching him you both will have a ton of fun. DW
  2. Karen if you look at the website Ereplacementparts.com they have a breakdown of your saw and you can order the parts you need. Here is the link to your model http://www.ereplacementparts.com/delta-40560-type-1634-scroll-saw-parts-c-3275_3505_14017.html I have used them in the past and they give good, fast service and the prices are decent. You may wish to look for the new reverse spirals that Mike carries. I use them from time to time. \\ DW
  3. Chippy Clock cut from 3 ply 3mm maple ply. Chippies darkened with Danish Oil and the leaves with very thin acrylic paint. The back is white Oak. Finished in semi gloss lacquer. The size is 10" wide x 16" long x 3/4 thick. DW

  7. The basic candy dispenser is a Steve Good Pattern http://www.stevedgood.com/gumball.pdf. The tray is created using one of the pieces that is cut out and another piece of scrap. It is easy and fun to watch the kids get a small handful of M&M's or Skittles at the shows. DW
  8. Type 2 Candy Dispenser – Pattern modified to include the tray from the Steve Good design. Very late internet orders. Made from ¾ inch Appleply. 4 inch Cedar bowl with Poplar Swag. Used 5/16 inch cedar. Finish was Tung Oil and Shellac Gift Box - Cut from common pine the bow and ribbon from BB ply. Flocked brilliant red. Finished with Shellac Chipmunk on a Stump – cut from 3/8 in. clear pine. Finished with Danish oil. The chipmunk does not have a stain but more coats of Danish Oil on it. Leaping Dolphins – Cut from ½ inch Corian. DW
  9. How much different that looks, from the gray painted to the more natural, changed hardware with the scrolled native motif on the drawers. If one were going to sell the dresser, before you did anything to it you could get perhaps $25-$30 now as it stands $125 or better. You should be very happy with your work because it is excellent. Thanks for sharing it with us. DW
  10. Actually if you think about it you can do the same thing with a simple saber saw. You can clamp a guide board to your plywood and then run the saber saw along the guide board. Easy enough to do and a lot safer than a table saw. I was not overly impressed with the blade runner. It essentially is a saber saw that is upside down with a table top. Hope this helps a bit. DW
  11. I have several online stores that I am currently using. I have one on ETSY, one on ARTFIRE, and one on ECRATER. While I will admit that I have not been very active keeping up with the listings and some of the listings are rather blah I have sold some things here and there. ETSY.com - http://www.etsy.com/...kum?ref=si_shop I have had this shop open since October of 2009 and have only sold 4 items - however I have not pushed the stores presence nor put a lot effort into promoting it. The fact that folks have purchased through the store even though I have not publicly advertised its presence indicates that people are going on the site to shop. It is easy enough to set up and use. ARTFIRE.com - http://www.artfire.c...o/DW_Collection I have had this store since early 2010. It is not free but is only $9.95 a month. I have sold 6 items on this site. As with ETSY I have been lazy in promoting it and I still get sales. It is real easy to set up with great help if needed. ECRATER - http://thescrolledhand.ecrater.com/ I have had this account the longest. It is a GOOGLE partner and has a LOT of bells and whistles that I am currently not using. I have sold several items out of this store. As with all stores you have to put forth an effort to publicize your store to the public. You will need to have good photos of your work, nothing will help you sell faster than having a good photograph and description of your item. A bit of work on your part will pay off. Selling online is not too difficult but it does require that you make a serious effort or you will not get the results you are hoping for. DW
