  1. Now that is a lot of cutting. You did a great job on that chandelier. Thanks for sharing your talent with us. DW
  2. Great cuttings ... Thanks for sharing them with us. DW
  3. Increased the pattern to 1 1/2 in thick by 3 1/2 long. Cut from Poplar. DW
  4. TB you did great on that bowl. I like the contrasts of the dark wood ( walnut?) to the pine. Thanks for sharing it with us. DW
  5. Designed this scalloped 9 lobe bowl. I used poplar and finished it with shelac. The bowl is just a hair over 6 in. wide. DW
  6. Designed by me this box is cut from aromatic cedar that is 1 3/8 in. thick. About 6 in long and 4 wide. Finished with gloss laquer. DW
  7. Clayton the pattern for the puzzle came from S.A.W. publication Sawdust. It is also available in their back issue database. DW
  8. The puzzle pattern is from the Sawdust magizine published by S.A.W. The picture is from a Christmas card I recieved. The Mug is a Steve Good Pattern and the wood is Black Walnut. The lighter wood is also walnut just the heart wood. DW
  9. Looks good Chirs. I like the blue tint. Thanks for sharing it with us. DW
  10. Chris, I usually leave it a little higher than the board I filled after baking I just sand it down to the board surface. It seems to stay in place when packed in good... you need to make sure it is packed into the nooks and crannies and I have not seen any shrinkage when baking. DW
  11. Chris the clay is quite resonable in price. I got a small package 1/2" thick and 1 1/2" wide and 2" tall for a couple of bucks at Michaels ( craft store ) I used basically one package of the green clay and just a small portion of the black clay. There are all kinds of sites out there Chris on how to work with this clay. It is simple to work with and easy to store that which you do not use right away. One word of caution if you use a regular oven and use a baking pan that baking pan is no longer food safe so you will need to seperate it from any others. DW
  12. Pattern from Steve Good. The dragon is polymer clay which was baked at about 275 F for about 17 min. The clay becomes rock hard after baking. DW
  13. Very nice job on that candle holder. You could also use the electric tea candles if you were concerned about catching the holder on fire. I am sure it will be well used. DW
  14. Here is a picture of my small but decorated tree with all of the ornaments that I have recieved from everyone. Thanks to Scrolling Grandma Wood Diva Scrolling Jim Steve Westfall Mississauga David Reed John Maske CNewcomb Woodworking Sue Griffiths Zohar Laor DW
  15. Took me a little over 3 days to cut that one... I can not sit and do that level of concentration for long. DW
  16. Nicely cut Medic_149 DW
  17. Fixed it ... sorry about that .. I grabbed the wrong link when I uploaded it. DW
  18. Very Nice work on the shelf. Thanks for sharing it with us. DW
  19. Made from cherry and poplar finished with semi gloss laquer. That is my brother in law in the picture. DW
  20. I like them .. thanks for sharing them with us. DW
  21. Barry not really. The hardest part was to get it down and glued at the edges without leaving smeared glue on the see thru parts. DW
  22. Great job on the Unicorn Frieke. As for a fast drying finsh, as the kids are older and are not likely to be trying to eat the unicorn hehe you could put a laquer such as Deft on it. The spray Deft drys very quickly if not put on in thick coats, use 3 or so thin coats. Stand alone puzzles are fun to make and seem to sell pretty well at the craft shows. DW
  23. Excellent work on the box and the redesign. Thanks for showing us your skill. DW
  24. 1st of all Congratulations! I know from experience that small shows can sometimes mean a lot of business... I only did 3 shows this year and in all 3 I was the only scroller vendor. At your show did you have to provide your own table or did they have some for rent? Suggestion, get another table and spread out a little bit. A bright cover for the table would not hurt either. Sounds like you had fun. An idea I have been playing with is to have a pedal powered saw that I can take to shows that I do not have electricity in. Granted you can not cut real thick stock with it but a key chain here and there to entice the cutomers to stay around a bit and perhaps buy. DW
  25. Got it at Michaels ( a local craft store ). I imagine you could get it at most of them. A lot of time used for floral wrap. DW
