  7. Travis I used the link at the top for Amazon, so hopefully you get credit for it.
  8. I just bit the bullet and ordered one. At that price I was scared not to, in case I can't get mine fixed now. If I can get it fixed I will have a backup saw.. the parts are on order for the old one. I should thank all my customers that ordered Christmas gifts from me, they paid for it. Otherwise it wouldn't of happened.
  9. that's a good price. will have to check into it right now mine is tore down, one of the bearings inside wore out and was causing a very loud banging noise.
  10. Here is my latest, and the last of my Christmas orders. My friend wanted this for his Dad. It's made from walnut and Curly Maple. The letters are inlayed.
  11. I finally had time to get pictures of my blade storage.
  12. I used some 1/2" pvc pipe I had laying around as well as some small wooden balls to plug the ends of the pipe. I cut them to length and mounted them at a slight angle in a pine board that I fastened above my scroll saw. Now when I need a blade I just reach up and grab the one I need. For storage of extra blades I made a box from dwsudekum's pattern. The box is made from scrap maple I had, and some pieces of trim bought from home depot. There is more room for blades under the trays. The box is very handy and it is kept next to my saw, it is a little dusty. I will post pics of these later if you would like to see. I just got off a 12 hour shift plowing snow, relaxing a bit then back to bed to do it all over again. I know if I go out to the shop now I will start working on something and I have to be back to work at 1:30 am. So it will have to wait until after work tomorrow.
  13. great job Jim
  14. that is awesome. lots of fragile areas. well done
  15. excellent cutting Ron.
  16. Here is my shop. Its 10 x 12. The first two pics were taken standing just outside the door the others were taken standing against the front bench. A small shop but it works.
  17. Here is a thread to post pictures of your shops. Post them in this thread, that way it will be easier for all to find them. I will post mine as soon as I can get my computer to cooperate with me.
  18. I had a couple ask in my gallery if these were my patterns. They were purchased from Cherry Tree Toys. Here is a link to them. they have many knife patterns and a couple different styles. http://www.cherrytreetoys.com/Scrollsaw-Knife-Plans-C579.aspx?s=Featured
  19. I buy all my wood locally. That is high for that size of board. If you have a way buy a 3/4" or 1" board and resaw it yourself. It will save money and get more pieces.

  22. for my portraits I'm with Jim, I use the spray on acrylic, and usually a satin finish.

  24. Thanks Travis, and to the rest of you. I just do what I can to help out. I may do little things to help it run, but if it wasn't for Travis we wouldn't be here. So my hat(if I wore one ) is off to you Travis.
