when I stack cut I glue the edges together with hot glue. I just stack the pieces and clamp then, use my hot glue gun to apply a few "spots" of glue down each side and end. After the glue has cooled(set) I remove the clamps and the stack is ready to go. After the cutting is done I just cut off the glue with a razor knife, and the pieces seperate with little effort.

when I buy/get any patterns I scan them into my computer. They are organized there by types/subjects. When I need a pattern I just print it out, it may be printed on a couple sheets depending on size of pattern. I keep all the originals in a couple expandable folders and put them away. Saves a lot of room by saving them all to the computer.

I use both olsen and flying dutchman blades. Flying dutchman are my favorites and use the most.my go to sizes are the # 5 & 7 reverse scroll. I use those two sizes the most, but I do keep others around. there are several places online that sell both brands(and others) here are a couple - www.woodenteddybearonline.com

Hi Jeff welcome to the village. My tip would be what you said, practice, practice,practice. don't give up you'll get the hang of it and get better. save the projects you cut, to look back at the progress you make.

Here is my latest intarsia piece. the overal size is 15 1/2" x 22". Made with cherry, paduak, ambrosia maple, curly maple, sassafras, honey locus, sycamore, yellowheart, walnut, wenge(eye), and poplar. As with all my intarsia, no paint,stains, or dyes were used. all natural wood with a tung oil and poly finish.
