I do like Bill. cut from which ever direction I feel most comfortable with and get the most control of the piece. I also start from the center and work out.

Here is one of the things Ive been working on. A rocking horse for my grand daughter. It is made from pine then burnt to make the grain "pop".

Thanks you all for your advise. Right now I'm leaning towards the excaliber. soon as I save enough money. no hurry yet as my Dremel is still going.

I mainly use a number 7 reverse tooth flying dutchman, and sometimes a number 5 for cutting most of my hardwoods, domestic and exotics. they are atleast 3/4" thick.

I use mostly 1/8" for portraits.

In the future(soon I hope) I'm wanting to buy a new scrollsaw. I've been thing of the dewalt or the excaliber. any thoughts. I have used a dewalt a couple times and liked it, but have never used an excaliber. I'm using a Dremel 1800 now and have no complaints with it, it is just getting tired. I use it alot. any advise or thoughts.

Christmas is right around the corner. What is everyone working on? I've started working on making my Christmas gifts and filling a couple of early orders. A few intarsia projects, a rocking horse among a couple other things. busy busy. oh yea and can't forget the secret santa gift.
